Recently been on a soundwalk?
Note: If there's no sound when you press play please wait a few seconds for the stream to connect. If this doesn't work, try re-loading this page. Alternatively you can click on the link directly which will open the live stream player in a new browser tab or window.
Did you hear something beautiful? unexpected? incredible?
HomeSounds is inviting you to share your experiences of listening to Riverlands through our live stream microphones, on a programmed soundwalk, or independently.
We would love to hear more about;
what you heard
how it made you feel
where you were when you heard it
how you were listening
anything else you want to tell us!

Did you hear something that you can't identify? Can you help others figure out what a sound is?
HomeSounds needs your help to learn more about the acoustic habitat of Riverlands.
We have created a project on the iNaturalist platform to do this. iNaturalist is a piece of open-source software that allows anyone to submit auditions (aural observations) for identification.
Once an audition has been submitted the iNaturalist community (including yourself once you have joined) can listen to it and make suggestions of possible identifications.
Identifying sounds is complicated, and whilst increasingly there is software to help with this (such as the brilliant Merlin Bird ID app), there is nothing like knowledgable input from humans to generate both answers that help in, and offer enthusiasm for, understanding our acoustic habitats.
